The character of Gandalf, who appears also in “The Lord of the Rings” is a wise wizard and Member of the Istari Order. Portrayed by Ian McKellen in the Warner Bros film, he is Leader of the Fellowship of the Ring, and best known for his long robes, grey or white hair, long beard and staff.
